Stepping in When a Customer Was Let Down
This project was carried out in Doddington, Cambridgeshire, after the customer was let down last minute and needed someone capable and confident to fit their new worktops.
Compact laminate worktops require a different approach to standard laminate or solid wood, especially when it comes to cutting, jointing and finishing. The customer wanted the job done properly, without shortcuts, and needed someone who could step in quickly and get it right first time.
The Work Carried Out
The job involved fitting a set of compact laminate worktops, including:
Accurate cutting and fitting of compact laminate worktops
Routing draining board grooves directly into the worktop
Clean, precise joints and edges
Care taken throughout to protect surrounding units and finishes
Because compact laminate is a dense material, routing drainage grooves requires the right tools, experience and a steady hand to achieve a neat, professional finish.
The Result
The worktops were fitted cleanly and securely, with the draining grooves routed to suit the sink and kitchen layout. The customer was relieved to have the work completed properly after being let down, and happy with the final result.
This is a good example of the type of work I regularly carry out — stepping in when reliability matters and delivering high-quality carpentry and kitchen fitting.
